Kukd.com a new portal for restaurant booking and take-away orders - Business Review

Wales Online gives a summary of Kukd.com which is powered by Euro foods a successful restaurant catering supplies business looking to create 300 jobs.

Kukd.com is pitched at giving restaurants more control and designed to compete with other portals such as JustEat and HungryHouse.

Kukd.com takes a slightly different approach in that they will design an individual website and app for each restaurant with the same back end processing for order management customer service and payments etc.

Kukd.com is currently pre-launch and signing up businesses. They will charge a commission, but giving they are looking to sign-up 10,000 businesses in the next year, there is probably room to negotiate a great deal with them.

Overall they look like a very professional outfit, specialised in the restaurant trade rather than just another web-design company. They can do everything from leaflet design to search engine optimisation. Interesting they even have a KukdLink terminal which gives order management functionality which I am sure would be useful and it has a small footprint and looks like a retail hardened device.

There is probably very little risk in signing up with these in terms of Kukd.com's ability to deliver, however that does not make it risk free. This is a financial committment of a fixed fee. Like any business investment it is important that restaurants understand what they need to do and when they need to do it. Also they should consider if they need to create content for the website to keep it fresh.

An example is JackSpice in Swindon. This looks like a great website. From a customer service point of view though I still think it has some problems. One of the advantages of using a service like JustEat for example is that I don't have to give my personal details to every takeaway in Swindon that I order from. I don't really trust each small business with my personal details, so thinks to improve I would suggest that one is is to allow order as a guest.

Secondly like many people I repeat order from the same restaurants every week, why not offer me a discount to replace my order from justeat with a new order here?

Overall Kukd.com is focused on solving a business problem for its clients, it also needs to solve problems for end consumers also.
